Paulina Macias

Paulina Macias Ortega is a Legal Intern at the Global Justice Center, originally from Mexico. Over the past few months, she worked as a Summer Legal Associate with the Latin America Litigation team at the Center for Reproductive Rights, where she focused on agrotoxins, environmental justice, and reproductive rights. She holds an LL.M. in National and Global Health Law and a Certificate in International Human Rights Law from Georgetown University, and earned her Law and International Relations degree from ITAM in Mexico. She has completed specialized courses and diplomas in biotechnology, bioethics, strategic litigation of ESC rights, and equality law from Yale University, UNAM, and the University of Buenos Aires, among others. While at Georgetown, she was a Research Assistant at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and interned with the ACLU Women’s Rights Project. Before graduate school, she was a visiting professional at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, intern and later consultant at the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), Consular Officer at the Mexican Consulate in New York, and law clerk at the Supreme Court of Mexico.
