Matima Leekitwattana

Matima Leekitwattana is a 3L student pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Matima is particularly interested in international human rights and international criminal law issues. During her 2L year, Matima was a legal intern at Cardozo’s Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention (HRAP) clinic where she worked on a project with a focus on slavery and the slave trade. As a legal intern at the HRAP clinic, in support of advocacy to include slavery and the slave trade in the Draft Articles on Prevention of Punishment of Crimes Against Humanity, she conducted comparative legal analyses of the state parties’ domestic legislations and their statements related to the Draft Articles. She is also interested in advancing gender justice and promoting reproductive rights.
