Evie Schumann
Evie Schumann joins Global Justice Center as a Legal Intern. She is a second-year student at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she is focusing on public international law and human rights. At Berkeley, she serves as Publishing Editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law, leads a pro bono project assisting individuals seeking asylum, and conducted research for a UN Special Rapporteur as a Student Advocate in the Human Rights Clinic. Last summer, she was a judicial intern at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Prior to law school, Evie worked on international peace and security grantmaking at Carnegie Corporation of New York and supported family planning and reproductive health programs worldwide at the U.S. Agency for International Development. She holds a B.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University, where she completed a capstone project researching the intersection of gender and violent extremism in the Sahel.
