Janet Benshoof speaks at the New York Bar Association


On March 21st, GJC President Janet Benshoof  spoke at the New York Bar Association’s panel titled   "Attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Major Obstacles for Women and How Attorneys Can Help.” {link to event page] Other panelists at the event included Karen Hanrahan, Chief Program Officer of the Center for Reproductive Rights, Shazia Z. Rafi, former Secretary-General of Parliamentarians for Global Action, and Vidya Sri, Human Rights Policy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy.

During the panel, Benshoof spoke about the Global Justice Center’s mission to develop innovative international law strategies to support civil society and enforce human rights law, and introduced some of GJC’s current projects including the Genocide and Gender project and the August 12th Campaign.
