Burma's Violations of United Nations Resolutions
UN envoys and UN Resolutions have repeatedly expressed grave concerns about these ongoing violations and have called upon the regime to end impunity. The military regime has consistently ignored at least 30 UN resolutions, most of which include a call for an independent investigation into the crimes committed by the junta. Eight UN envoys have tried to facilitate dialogue between the junta and the pro-democracy forces, and to carry out fact-finding missions in Burma. All UN efforts have been met with silence.
