Legal Obligations for the Referral of Burma to the ICC

The facts of the situation in Burma support legal arguments for an ICC referral for the crimes committed by the military junta under the Chapter VII powers of the UNSC's mandate. Burma, the Security Council member states, and the international community all possess certain legal obligations to fulfill the international treaties to which they are signatories. These legal obligations mandate action to end the injustices the military junta is currently committing in Burma.
