Global Justice Center President Janet Benshoof's article on Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese democracy leader and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate still under the imprisonment of the Burmese military junta, and the importance of international law and justice. Says Benshoof, "Aung San Suu Kyi's unwavering commitment to a nonviolent path to democracy in Burma, and her decades-long detention have made her a global icon. But true justice for Aung San Suu Kyi requires dismantling the male power structures, as well as addressing her situation and that of the people in Burma.
